I know that it can be difficult to find good restaurants when you are a tourist traveling to a new city and even if you are already an ex-pat living full time in another country and for the people who know me, it's no surprise that when I'm not thinking or talking about real estate, I'm thinking about food, so on this Taco Tuesday I want to share with you my top 5 of the best places to eat tacos in Playa del Carmen.

Watch out! Information not suitable for healthy people. Continue at your own risk.

- Tacos Locos: If you are looking for a unique and different place, downtown, this place will not disappoint you. Inspired by the 90's movie "Blood In Blood Out" this food truck with "Carne asada" (beef style beef very common in northern Mexico), is a safe bet.

La Cochiloka: One thing you have to know, you can't talk about cochinita pibil tacos in Playa, without talking about this place. If you are one of the people who like to know the local culture of the cities you visit, "Cochinita Pibil" is undoubtedly a great part of the local culture. This typical dish from the Yucatan Peninsula is made from red marinated pork cooked slowly for several hours, which makes it extremely juicy and soft. I dare you to eat just one.

- Chiltepin Seafood: For lovers of seafood and fish, I highly recommend the tuna tacos served at this place. 1-inch pieces of tuna, perfectly charbroiled and diced into pieces of joy, will remind you why you wanted to move to a beach town.

- Los hijos de la birria: Traditionally made from lamb, these young entrepreneurs offer a beef alternative for people who don't particularly like the taste of lamb. These types of tacos that can go with or without cheese, became very famous on Tik Tok for the way they are eaten by submerging them in the same broth with which the meat was cooked.

- Mariscos Callejeros: Ohh man, don't get me started on which shrimp dishes I like, because I'll get all "Forest Gump" on you (young people sure won't get that movie reference). Not everything is about the food downtown, sometimes one has to go a little further to find culinary gems and when it comes to shrimp, these are undoubtedly one of my favorites. A perfect combination of a hint of garlic and onion flavor and an amount of butter that would surely make Julia Child proud.

So there you have it guys, a quick and easy guide to enjoying different flavors every Taco Tuesday you stay in Playa del Carmen. And remember, if you want to make this real estate agent very happy, just say the magic words:

"Manuel, I want to buy a property in Playa del Carmen, let's taco bout it" and I'll feel excited and hungry at the same time.
