If you are thinking of visiting a new place in the Mexican Caribbean, today I want to talk to you about Tankah Bay, located south of Playa del Carmen and before arriving Tulum, a different alternative, but just as exuberant and beautiful as the rest of the beaches of the Mexican Caribbean, but because of its location it is far from the tourist spots. In the Mayan language, Tankah means the Center of the Town, and due to its proximity to Tulum, it is thought that the Mayans lived in this place.

The sand in Tankah is different from the rest of the beaches in the area since it was created thanks to the spraying of corals since Tankah Bay is located in front of the reef. The beaches are naturally protected by the bay, for the waters are calm.
Tankah is a paradise for snorkelers since the views of the diverse and colorful fish that inhabit the reef is a gift to behold, as well as the Cenote Manatí.

Tankah has been characterized by having large houses facing the sea that many people rent for days and months, for a rest on the outskirts of the city, in a relaxed and remote environment. Now too, beachfront condos are being built in this area, bringing a bit of modernity to people who are looking for style, modernity, and exclusivity at the same time.

Tankah beach is located 5 kilometers north of Tulum (as well as towards the archaeological site of Tulum). If you want to move to this point, you must go 68 kilometers from Playa del Carmen, and go through Federal Highway 307
