Beginner's guide to enjoy Xpu-Ha beach

Xpu-Ha Beach: The Best Kept Secret in the Riviera Maya. 

As we promised, and because several clients also requested it, this article is an extension of our last article where we talk about 5 Amazing Beaches in Riviera Maya and in which on this occasion we will only focus on the less known but just as spectacular Xpu Ha.

This beach has become the favorite beach for all the locals (and ex-pats) who live in Playa del Carmen & Puerto Aventuras. It is like they say “The Crown’s jewel”. This unique oasis in the middle of Playa del Carmen (17 miles-25 minutes south) and Tulum (23 miles-30 minutes north) has remained anonymous to many of the millions of tourists that arrive at Cancun International Airport (50 miles-1 hour away) looking for memorable experiences. What to do in Xpu-ha beach?

1.- Hello sunshine:

Start your day well, there is nothing better than having breakfast with some fruit, a cup of hot coffee, and of course a sunrise on the beach. The exact time to see the sunrise can be confirmed in the weather app that you have installed on your mobile and thus set the alarm to be ready in the sand 15 minutes before what the app marks.

2.- Go get your Swimsuit.

This is what you came for, right? Put on the mask, grab your tube, and go snorkeling. The entire Riviera Maya area is known for its crystal clear waters and Xpu Ha has the best turquoise beaches for this activity.

If you are one of the people who did not come to relax and are looking for some more adrenaline, we recommend you rent one of the jet skis in the area and go into the ocean.

Now, if you are looking for something between snorkeling and jet skiing, we suggest you encourage yourself to try the kitesurfing lessons. This is a surfboard with a kite tied to your body by a harness that will allow you to feel like you were in the waves of California.

Cenotes is a natural pit, or sinkhole, resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater underneath. If you don't know them yet, YOU MUST DO IT. Riviera Maya is an area known for its large number of cenotes (some internally connected by underground rivers). If you don't believe us, ask a diving fan. Just 3 minutes away are two of the most beautiful cenotes that we can recommend, "Jardin del Eden" and "Cenote Azul".

4.- Enough of activities, it's time to relax in Xpu-ha beach.

Traveling is also tired, we know, so why don't you take a day just to relax in front of the sea, have your favorite drink and catch up with that book that you don't finish yet? Do you want more relaxation than that? Why not a massage on the beach? Walking on the beach you will find a couple of ladies with a tender smile and a warm look, but with strong hands that know how to undo those knots on your back. With them, you are in good hands ... literally.

We are not talking about a famous actor or a Victoria Secret's model (although many people from Hollywood come to Riviera Maya often) but about those beautiful stars of light that sometimes we cannot see from the patio in our hometown.
