Bahia Tankah is a privileged area within Riviera Maya, south of Akumal and north of Tulum. A great area with beachfront properties and a very private atmosphere with the unique and special nature touch that you look at in this paradise.

Bahia Tankah is a hidden gem in the Riviera Maya, a privileged location among the wonders that this area offers. It is located just 0.8 kilometers from the archaeological zone of Tulum and 10 kilometers from the center of Tulum. It has been characterized as a very exclusive place and home to some beautiful vacation houses and new beachfront real estate developments, of the few existing options in Tulum such as Kaoba.

Tankah means "town center" in the Mayan language and is hundreds of years older than the famous Tulum, its port dates back to 150 BC and there are ruins that have not been restored in La Caleta. This port offered the possibility of making trades with neighboring towns and travelers who passed through the place, which could have exposed them to attacks, and for this reason, the walled city of Tulum was later created, where the ruins are today.

The sand in Bahia Tankah is different from the rest of the beaches in Riviera Maya, the shape of the bay and the Mesoamerican Reef System that stands in front of Tankah, have created a beautiful beach with the remains of coral and pulverized shells. By having this protection with the coral reef, the beaches are very calm and tranquil, and at the same time less crowded, so they offer a quiet and private stay.

Again thanks to the Mesoamerican Reef System. Tankah is a paradise for snorkeling, on the one hand, it has a beautiful aquatic ecosystem, colorful schools of fish, and an impressive view of the barrier reef, and on the other hand, there is The Manatee Cenote, also known as Casa Cenote, an open cenote surrounded by a system of mangroves and a canal that joins it to the sea, so you can feel and see a very unusual combination of the cold water of the cenote and the salty and warmer seawater. Casa cenote has also become a strategic point for divers looking to complete their certification.

Another natural attraction in Bahia Tankah is that from May to December each year is the turtle nesting season, during a night walk you may come across a mother turtle reaching the beach to nest her eggs in the sand.

With the growth in real estate in the area, various restaurants have been born, as well as plans for convenience stores or minimarkets are in the works so that your stay in Tankah is as comfortable as you need it to be.
